Today’s Scripture
2 Kings 4:4-7Reflection
The widow gathered the vessels. Then came the moment when she had to pour. Imagine looking at a small amount of oil and a room filled with empty containers. The math didn't work. But she poured anyway, and the oil continued.
This is where belief becomes action.
We can spend years thinking about what we could do. We can buy courses, make plans, write goals, pray, research, prepare and wait for the perfect moment. Eventually, something has to pour.
The phone call has to be made. The application has to be submitted. The first customer has to be served. The first page has to be written. The seed has to go into the ground. The conversation has to happen. The skill has to be practiced.
You don't need to know how far your oil will go before you pour the first drop. The widow didn't manufacture the multiplication herself. Her responsibility was obedience with what she had.
That takes some pressure off. You don't have to control every outcome. You do have to decide what you're going to do with what is in your hand.

Lord, thank You for what You have entrusted to me. Keep me from waiting forever for perfect circumstances. Give me wisdom to know when preparation is necessary and when preparation has become another way of hiding. Show me where it is time to pour. Amen.
