Today’s Scripture
Hebrews 11:6 and Mark 9:24Reflection
We began this week with a widow who thought she had almost nothing. We watched her recognize the oil, gather jars, and pour. Then we met Hagar in the wilderness. Her water was gone. Her fear was real. And God opened her eyes.
Now we arrive at the question underneath all seven days: Do I believe God?
Hebrews 11:6 tells us that the person who comes to God must believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.
Maybe your faith doesn't feel enormous today. That's okay. In Mark 9, a father gives us one of the most honest prayers in Scripture: “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
Maybe that's where you are. You believe, but you're afraid. You trust God, but you have questions. You want to move, but you don't know exactly how everything will work. Bring Him that.
You don't have to manufacture perfect certainty. You need enough belief for the next faithful step.
Over these seven days, you've looked at what is in your house. You've stopped calling things “just.” You've identified an uncomfortable step. You've considered what it means to pour. You've named a real problem. You've asked God to open your eyes.
Now comes the question: What will you do with what you've seen?
What Do You Believe?
Read these slowly:
I believe God is who He says He is.
I believe He sees what I cannot see.
I believe I can learn what I do not yet know.
I believe discomfort does not have to make my decisions.
I believe I can take the next faithful step without knowing every step after it.
For Your House
Look back over everything you wrote this week. What keeps appearing? What did you recognize? What have you been minimizing? What fear did you identify? What action have you avoided? What possibility deserves further exploration? What do you believe your next wise, faithful step is?
One Step Today
Finish this sentence: “With what God has placed in my hands and shown me this week, my next step is __________.” Then put a date beside it.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for meeting me during these seven days. Continue opening my eyes. Help me recognize what You have entrusted to me, develop what needs developing, learn what I need to learn and release the fears that have kept me from moving. I believe You. Where my belief is weak, help my unbelief. Give me wisdom for the next step and courage to take it. I don't need to see the entire road. Help me faithfully walk the part You show me. Amen.
JOURNEY COMPLETE
You Finished Open Your Eyes
Don't close this devotional and forget what God showed you. Go back through what you wrote. Pay attention to the things that kept appearing. Keep asking God to open your eyes, and keep taking the next step with what He has placed in your hands.
The goal was never simply to finish seven devotionals. The goal is to see differently and move differently.
